Emmendingen Announces "e4/Sign" Electronic Signature Solution for Health Insurance
Comline and AuthentiDate Partner with Emmendingen to Process Over 20 Million Documents a Year
Dortmund, Duesseldorf, Emmendingen (Germany) - AuthentiDate International AG, a subsidiary of AuthentiDate Holding Corp., (NASDAQ: ADAT) announced today that the Emmendignen clearing center has entered into a three-year contract in partnership with both AuthentiDate, for its electronic signature solution, and Comline, as an integrator, for Emmendingen's mass document recording initiative.
The Emmendingen clearing center is a service provider for over 160 statutory health insurance organizations. The "e4/Sign" system first scans and then calls on AuthentiDate technology to apply qualified signatures to approximately 20 million documents involved in reimbursement processing annually, all in accordance with German administrative accounting regulations for Social Security insurance (§36 SRVwV).
The scan signature solution is designed to check and provide qualified signatures for large volumes of documents-close to 2 million per month. In addition to the scanning and signature functionality, the e4/Sign solution manages the long-term archiving of the electronic data in accordance with legal standards and has made expensive paper archiving obsolete.
There are plans for the Emmendingen Clearing Center to also record documents other than those used in reimbursement accounting via e4/Sign as well as to move other processes to paperless online solutions in order to save its customers money.
