Manufacturer’s Declaration

Appropriate hardware and software is imperative for generating qualified signatures and time stamps in accordance with the German Signature Act (SigG) and the Signature Law (SigV). All companies that want to use the signatures and time stamps for generating legally binding electronic data should therefore only use legally compliant hardware and software.
Special security requirements have been defined by law particularly for signature software. These protect the user against abuse and unnoticed manipulation of signed electronic data. Hence, either certification in accordance with the international Common Criteria (CC) standard and confirmation in compliance with the Signature Law or a manufacturer’s declaration is required for the signature software. This manufacturer’s declaration must be published by the Federal Network Agency.
AuthentiDate customers therefore receive a manufacturer’s declaration for the signature software automatically, which complies with the legal requirements.
As a pioneer in the signature market, we set the course at an early stage for the successful publication of the manufacturer’s declaration. Consequently, the AuthentiDate manufacturer’s declaration was the very first one to be published by the Federal Network Agency. You can download the manufacturer’s declaration published by the Federal Network Agency at the website of the BNetzA.
Furthermore, we have commissioned the relevant official authorities with the international Common Criteria (CC) certification and confirmation in compliance with the Signature Law. We will soon be offering these – in addition to the manufacturer’s declaration already published – to our customers and partners for AuthentiDate products and services.
