Accreditation by the Federal Network Agency

Shortly after the new German Signature Act came into effect in May 2001, AuthentiDate International AG was already accredited by the Federal Network Agency (BNetz), formerly the German Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts (RegTP), in accordance with the Signature Law.
Since then, AuthentiDate has operated a trust center in compliance with the strict regulations of the Signature Act and Signature Directive and at the same time has specialized particularly in the generation of qualified time stamps.
Owing to its longstanding accreditation, AuthentiDate has enormous expertise at its disposal in all matters of signature management, which we fall back on daily in the new and further development of products and services.
As an accredited certification authority in accordance with the Signature Law, we are constantly monitored by the Federal Network Agency, whose regulations have to be met absolutely at all times. Thus, our customers can rely upon absolute and unchanging quality. This applies particularly to the qualified time stamps issued by our trust center. These are also verifiable – owing to our accreditation – even over time periods of at least 30 years.
This long verification period is also warranted, should AuthentiDate - for what reason ever- not continue to offer its services. In this case, the time stamps issued by our trust center will continue to be verifiable by the Federal Network Agency.
The Federal Network Agency is supervising the accreditation service providers according to §19 and §3 SigG. The federal network agency is responsible for the directory and revocation service of the root instance. The service also hosts status information for the certificates of AuthentiDate’s accredited time stamp service. Therefore, users can be sure that time stamps can be verified for a period of at least 30 years and be used as evidence at court.
